Peach Cobbler

The following is a recovered peach recipe found on an old yellowed piece of paper in Miss Mildred’s (Miss Patsy’s mother) handwriting.
1    Quart of cut up peaches
Pour into flat casserole dish
Sweeten to taste
Sprinkle with cinnamon
Cut up 1 stick butter over mixture
Mix together 1 cup sugar
1 cup self-rising flour
1cup butter milk
Pour above mixture over fruit but do not stir
Bake at 350 – 375 for 45 minutes or until done
Note: Canned plums, peaches or pears may be used.
