There’s a pair of brown, tail-flicking Carolina wrens in my window box with beaks filled with dried leaves from the flower pots. They’ve picked the perfect spot for their new spring nest. A friend who knows of my love of teapots forwarded a picture of a teapot hanging from a hook with a bird building a nest. The moment I saw it I knew I would never again lament finding a beautiful teapot with a missing or broken lid. Neither should you: bring it home and hang on a hook by the handle for your bird friends. Neat thing about teapots is they will not rot. I’m hanging the periwinkle blue teapot I found on a hook just under the eve of the house above the window box. My mornings will be enriched by cheerful wren songs and nest building.
