Speaking of Gardening…

I'm seeking to help Columbia area residents improve the beauty of their landscapes, particularly in the older established neighborhoods. To that end, I  give presentations to any group which might have an interest in beauty on the landscape.

The topic I most often address is  "How to Make Something Which Is Unsightly, Look Beautiful Again." The presentation focuses on "improving backyards" since that's generally the most neglected part of the yard.

Normally, the presentation last 10 mins followed by 20 mins of questions & answers. The Q & A part is normally handled by Ron Cowart, a local landscape consultant. We've made this presentation to several garden clubs; two civic organizations & the Columbia Chapter of the National Assoc. of Women in Construction.

Our next next presentation will be for the Shepherd's Center of St. Andrews on 9/14 and again on 9/25. On the second date the topic will be: "How to Deal with Poison Ivy and Invasive Vines."

If you or someone you know would like to consider inviting us to a future meeting, then I would be glad to send a you/them a CD (containing the slides we use our presentation) for their review.

Here is an example of a cover letter I might send to a garden club or neighborhood group – it's to a fictional River Hills Garden Club. It will give you a better idea of what I do. See Dear River Hills Garden Club.
