The Bag Lady’s Garden

What do you do when you are too old and cricty or too small to plow a garden spot? You remember the wise old saying, “There’s more than one way to skin a cat” and start BAGGING IT!

That’s what this 71-year-old lady will be doing this spring. It is as simple as obtaining a Wal-Mart breathable tote for $1.00 and a bag of soil mix. You probably have a collection of these bags,, as they are often used as promotional gifts. Let your imagination soar, but cut the list to about 5 or 6 of your favorite vegetables. There are web sites that skip the bag and cut X slits in the bag of soil and plant directly in it. If you take this approach be sure to snip corners or create drainage holes to prevent water log.
